The 66T series temperature controller manufactured by Therm-O-Disc is designed for electric water heaters with high capacitance values. The 66T series features two switch configurations: Manual Reset - Single Pole Single Throw (SPST), where normally closed contacts automatically open when the temperature rises to the set point. When the reset button is manually pressed and the temperature returns to normal operating levels, the contact can automatically reset to the closed state. Once the contact opens, if the reset button is not manually pressed, the contact will not automatically reset even if the temperature returns to normal, unless the temperature drops below 32°F (0°C). This manual reset structure is referred to as "M1 - Trip Free" by various certification agencies.
